Embrace Chaos Suspensions
About me

Embrace Chaos is the documentation of the collective experience of suspension artist Matt Brawley. Working primarily in the mediums of flesh hooks and hemp rope using the human body as a canvas, experiences are created and ordeals are orchestrated to achieve an intended outcome.

Hope Street Suspension Installation with Dave Navarro

Hope Street Suspension Installation with Dave Navarro

Aug 24 2016

On August 23, 2016 Embrace Chaos facilitated a guerilla suspension performance at the southern end of Hope Street under the I-10 freeway. The suspendee for this installation was Dave Navarro, who coincidentally contacted me about doing a public suspension while I was walking back from scouting this location with Ashes Wednesday. Dave was pierced and rigging set at my loft nearby and then we drove the six blocks to the location. We couldn't have asked for a better night. We had minimal drive by traffic and zero...

Ascension with Sheree Rose and Martin O'Brien

Dez 30 2017

On December 30, 2017 we had the privilege of collaborating with Sheree Rose, Martin O'Brien, and Ron Athey for the performance of The Ascension. The Gallery exhibited the works of Sheree Rose and Martin O'Brien along with dozens of items of significance that once belonged to the Performance Artist Bob Flannagan. The performance began with the procession through the gallery of latex clad nuns. Martin O'Brien was...

Chaos on the Cliffs with Threshold Suspensions

Aug 15 2017

The first weekend of August, Southern California gifted us with beautiful weather and we wanted to take advantage of it. Embrace Chaos and Threshold converged upon the cliffs at San Pedro and began setting rig points in the trees, setting up piercing stations, and had the first body in the air at noon. The weather was perfect, everyone enjoyed themselves, and we got to work as one large team...

Ink Master Season 8 Finale

Ink Master Season 8 Finale

Dez 08 2016

http://embracechaos.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/InkMaster.mp4 Dave Navarro and the Producers of Ink Master asked us to fly to New York in December of 2016 to suspend Dave for the Season 8 Finale. Due to the actual likelihood of the network letting the suspension be aired, it was kept under wraps what we were there to do. Everyone on set was very professional and were very helpful. That lead to the suspension being nice and relaxed, giving Dave the opportunity to work the audience a bit while on hooks and...
